One Day Hiking Trips from Gudauri and Kazbegi
Juta Valley
Personally, my big “love” is the hike to Chaukhi Lake in the Juta Valley — it’s a full day trip, without much altitude gain, possible to make it with kids. The beauty of the valley is simply mesmerising, and the Chaukhi cliffs that are visible along the entire route make this walk unforgettable!
Truso Gorge
The hike to a picturesque Truso Gorge passes through a dramatic steep-sided canyon before entering the wide valley and leading to a crumbling hilltop fortress. Breathtaking alien landscapes, thermal formations, the noisy Terek and half-ruined villages — this is all about Truso.
Gergeti Glacier
This hike is a great chance to see the part of the route to the top of Mount Kazbek. The church literally stands above the clouds and seems to guard the way to Kazbek, and the glacier mesmerises with its beauty and fragility.
